| Objective:
To establish a program which will focus on a multidisciplinary team approach for the treatment of neurologically disabled children. Using this approach, children with complicated medical and surgical problems can be treated in a way which will be more efficient, effective and user friendly for parents and children.
Due to the complicated nature of these disease processes, it is critical that there be open and streamlined communication between primary physician, subspecialists, family, and patient.
Using a centralized Institute for the coordination of their care will enable a more seamless transition between inpatient and outpatient facilities, procedures, and long term care as well as an improved follow up process using integrated care plans.
What are the goals?
-To create a functional neuroscience Institute where children can receive coordinated, efficient, and effective care for complex neurological problems
-To raise the level of care to the highest possible standards using the latest techniques and technologies in diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases
-To provide educational opportunities for physicians, nurses, allied health personnel, and the community to improve understanding of the complexities of the neurosciences.
-To develop and promote research endeavors in clinical and basic neurosciences
-To use a holistic and multifaceted approach to functional rehab and development for these children
-To create an “entity” to show support for the Neurosciences and develop a strategy for branding of the Neuroscience Center |
